Minutes from October 2, 2012 Meeting
ACT – Advancing the Community Of Tahoka, Texas
First United Methodist Church – Tahoka, Texas
12:05 pm Quorum Present: Dee Dee Pridmore, Roger Locke, Frances Truehart and Julia Allen.
Meeting was called to order and DeeDee led the Invocation. The minutes were unanimously approved as
presented.
Financial report showed a balance of $52,120.23.
Julia reported on the mini-park project. Julia has ordered tables, benches and trash cans in primary colors.
The color is guaranteed for life and the workmanship is guaranteed for 20 years. The benches will be bolted to the concrete. The old benches will be re-worked and donated to the City Pool.
Welcome Signage was discussed and Frances reported that the letters are in the computer but stated that since it was such a small job they are putting us off until a slow time. They should be ready in the near future.
The Mural Project was discussed DK Construction is getting a bid and should have it to DeeDee next week.
We discussed placing media at the Life Enrichment Center. The committee agreed that we would like a
little more information on where it would be placed and how it could be kept secure.
Roger mentioned that the new Youth Football League is now in Tahoka and how that brought people into
Tahoka from several surrounding towns for games. It was discussed how a Summer Softball League could do the same.
It was discussed that meetings will be moved to Wednesdays at noon due to the hospital meeting room
being in use on Tuesdays.
