Minutes from November 10, 2014 Meeting

Poka Lambro Office – Tahoka, Texas

5:40 pm Quorum Present: Dee Dee Pridmore, Julia Allen, Frances Truehart and Shannon Lawson

Meeting was called to order and Julia led the invocation. The minutes were unanimously approved as presented.

Financial report showed a balance of $150,904.48.

Julia Presented a proposal from First United Methodist Church offered to sell 2 lots in the Mini Park to the ACT board for $5,000.00. After some discussion it was determined that this was a fair price and we would move forward with the purchase of this land.

Dee Dee reported Mitch Raindl Cement had quoted us a price to replace the broken concrete at the Mural Park. His bid was $22,416.75 for the large slab and $2,092.00 for the sidewalk. This project was tabled indefinitely.

Shannon reported that she has distributed some of the brochures and will continue to get them out to the public. She also stated she would get with Retha Pittman from City Hall about the Christmas decorations.

Julia led a discussion about Tejas Housing, a company that builds 16 unit apartment buildings. They are very interested in Tahoka and have looked at 3 different properties in Tahoka, one on S Ave J, one on S 2nd and a piece of land owned by TISD on the North side of town. This was just an informational discussion with nothing to move on.

Frances continues to work on possible land acquisitions.
