Minutes from May 5, 2016 Meeting
City Hall – Tahoka, Texas
5:20 pm Quorum Present: Dee Dee Pridmore, Carmen Chapa, Donnis Scott, Jack Jaquess and Julia Allen
Meeting was called to order and Julia Allen led the invocation. The minutes were unanimously approved as written.
Financial report showed a balance of $197,494.06. Jack Jaquess suggested we come up with a dollar amount to place in reserve to
insure funds don’t get too low. After discussion we tabled the issue but will revisit this as we expend some of our funds and getprojects lined up.
Project #1
Donnis Scott said she had been unable to get together with Nash & Co and suggested we take the bid she did have from
Designscapes, LLC to the City Council to see if they would approve the bid of $41,759.01. Dee Dee Pridmore, Carmen Chapa, and
Julia were for taking it to City Council, Jack Jaquess was against. We also decided that we would have a work day in the near future
to paint the ‘Tahoka’ letters at the north triangle.
Project #2
Nothing new
Project #3
Lifeguard stands have been ordered and should be here soon. The roof is being worked on and should be finished soon.
Project #4
Elite Signs and Designs said it would be $300.00 dollars to remove the murals and $450.00 to reinstall after walls are fixed.
Project #7
Nothing new. Julia has called but cannot get all the parties to agree to meet
Project #8
The bid for the museum sign ran over in the amount of $175.00. This was for better metal that was used and overage
charged by the company that fabricated the sign. It was unanimously agreed that we would pay the overage.
Jack moved that we take the Patriot Tahoka project off of the table as nothing has been done with it. The motion to remove it carried
unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:40 pm.
Next meeting is set for June 2, 2016 at 5:15, at City Hall Meeting Room
