Minutes from April 7, 2016 Meeting

City Hall – Tahoka, Texas

5:15 pm Quorum Present: Dee Dee Pridmore, Jerry Ford, Jr., Carmen Chapa, Jack Jaquess and Julia Allen

Meeting was called to order and Jerry Ford Jr. led the invocation. The minutes were unanimously approved as written.

Financial report showed a balance of $202,660.37.

Project #2

Julia Allen reported that she is in the process of getting bids for the concrete work for the Pavilion at the Mini Park. The initial pad should be somewhere close to 84X50. Julia also stated the City is looking into ADA compliance at the park.

Project #3

The board talked about having a work day at the pool prior to opening day which is June 3rd. Jerry Ford Jr. will talk to Michelle Rodriguez about this. The City will order mats and life guard chairs for the pool and the ACT board will reimburse them.

Project #4

The City is taking bids to remove the unsound portion of the Mural Wall. Dee Dee Pridmore will contact Elite Signs & Design about pricing for removing and re-installing the murals.

Project #7

Nothing new.

Project #8

Complete. Sign has been manufactured and installed.

Promotions- Julia Allen will speak to Jerry Webster about where the Patriot Tahoka Project stands.

Two different community members inquired about a facade improvement program for business in Tahoka who wish to improve their storefront. After some discussion it was decided that we would think about what we want this program to look like and discuss it further next meeting. Julia Allen said she would try to speak to some of the business owners to see if there is interest in such a project.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 pm.
