Minutes from January 7, 2016 Meeting

City Hall – Tahoka, Texas

5:20 pm Quorum Present: Dee Dee Pridmore, Jerry Ford,Jr., Jack Jaquess and Julia Allen

Meeting was called to order anD Jerry Ford, Jr. led the invocation. The minutes were unanimously approved as presented.

Financial report showed a balance of $187,811.17

Project # 1

Nothing new

Project #2

Julia is going to look at pavilions and bring some recommendations.

Project #3

The City has asked if we would consider replacing the roof on the concession stand at the swimming pool. They would like to have a metal roof but would like to add a slant to the existing flat roof. Dale Summers and Tony Alvarez will be getting bids. Michelle stated she would like to see something done with the concrete walkways as they are cracked and slick. She had a couple of samples of rubber tiles that can be laid on top of the existing concrete and we discussed some spray on flooring. Jack moved we get some bids and take a look at it after that.

Project #4

It was brought to the boards attention that someone suggested 2 more murals be added to the south wall of the mural park. Jerry made a motion that we ask the City Council for an additional $3,000.00 to add 2 more murals. Jack suggested we come up with a comprehensive plan for the future plans at the mural park.

Project # 7

Nothing New

Jerry Ford has visited with the museum and they thought it would be good to mount a sign on the building that could be seen from the east or west traveling traffic. Leighton Knox stated he could get some ideas for us from a metal worker in Brownfield.

Jack presented ideas for a flag program but it was noted that the program did not meet criteria for the ACT board to expend funds.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 pm.
