Minutes from June 1, 2017 Meeting

City Hall – Tahoka, Texas

5:16 pm Quorum Present: Dee Dee Pridmore, Carmen Chapa, Gary Jones, Julia Allen, and Abraham Vega
Community members in attendance: Barbara Jaquess, Jerry Webster, Cathy Ross, Cal Huffaker

Meeting was called to order and Julia led the invocation.

The minutes were approved.

Financial report showed a balance of $257,402.48

Project #2:

Julia will ask the City Council for approval of spending $3000.00 to hire an architect firm to develop a true plan for the mini-park. Moved by Julia, second by Carmen.

Project #3:

Some electrical work has been done but no bills have been submitted.

Project #4:

Jerry Webster and John Baker have a scheduled meeting next week, “with a guy from Lubbock”, for additional discussion on removal of the wall.

Project #9:

The Façade application submitted by Cal was approved for $7500, moved by DeeDee, second by Carmen. Combest Funeral Home’s application was also approved for $7500, will need to submit receipts before check is written. Moved by DeeDee. Second by Abraham.

E. Promotions: Tim was not present but he continues to work on website.

Town Crier: The sign is here. It is up to the City Council to decide where it will go.

High Ground of Texas: Nothing to discuss.

F. President: Nothing new to report.

Executive Director: Jerry Webster was present and had nothing new to report.

Public Forum: Called to order at 5:15, for discussion of $10,000 expenditure for the town crier. No discussion and no questions.

Closed and continued with board meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:07 pm.
